Digital-Tutors : Sculpting Workflows in Mudbox
In this series of lessons we will cover all of the different sculpting tools in Mudbox and talk about some workflow tips to keep in mind as you sculpt.
Within Mudbox, there is a wide range of sculpting tools that allows artists to create many different effects. Some of these tools are more commonly used so they are well covered in many of our Mudbox courses, but all of them serve a purpose and can be an important part of your artist's toolbox.

Digital Tutors - Creating Game Vehicles in Maya and TopoGun
In this tutorial we're going to learn to use Maya and TopoGun to convert a high-resolution motorcycle into a game-type model. Film and commercial projects often require very high-resolution, highly detailed vehicle models. However, these models are not appropriate for games or other real-time applications because of the large number of polygons. So in order to be able to rig, animate, or integrate these models into a game engine, we first have to convert the model to a much lower resolution. Using a motorcycle as our example, we'll use Maya to reduce the resolution of many of the pieces. We'll then use TopoGun to create new topology for the very detailed meshes like the engine or radiator. We'll cover methods for baking normal and color maps from within Maya as well as in TopoGun. These techniques will allow us to create a much lower resolution model that is visually very close to its higher-resolution counterpart. Once we're done, you'll have a good grasp of several of the tools we can use to create game-resolution vehicle models and you'll have the knowledge you need to apply those techniques to your own models. If you're interested in building the high resolution motorcycle from start to finish, please check out the Motorcycle Modeling Techniques in Maya course which will take you through that process.

Lynda - Google SketchUp 8 Essential Training
In this course, author George Maestri explains how to model and render 3D objects and scenes using Google SketchUp 8. The course covers the fundamentals of the application, from navigating the user interface, manipulating objects, and building basic shapes to importing objects from Google Earth, animating a scene, and modeling organic terrain using the Sandbox tools. The course also explores SketchUp Pro features, which are available as an upgrade. These include tools for creating dynamic components and adding interactivity, as well as sophisticated importing and exporting options for working with outside applications.

MP4 | AVC 424kbps | English | 1280x720 | 24fps | 3h 45mins | AAC stereo 147kbps | 1.01 GB
Genre: Video Training

In this series you will learn about the Global Illumination effect inside CINEMA 4D. The series starts with a general overview of what Direct Light and Indirect Light are, and what that means to the renderer. With that groundwork laid, the concepts behind sampling and how that affects the resulting GI solution are covered. This includes information about how the size of illuminating objects affects the GI calculations, the GI Area Light attribute, and GI portals. With an idea of what goes into sampling the scene you will then explore the various GI methods, including primary (Irradiance Cache, Quasi-Monte Carlo) and secondary bounces (Irradiance Cache, Quasi-Monte Carlo, Radiosity Maps, and Light Mapping). After going over the various GI methods you will then be introduced to working with caches for the Irradiance Cache, Radiosity Maps, and Light Mapping.

Digital Tutors - Creative Development Voronoi Dynamic Fracturing in Houdini | 511MB
Genre: eLearning | Language: English

In this series of lessons, we will learn how to create dynamic and high quality fracturing simulations. Dynamic fracturing of rigid bodies is a powerful and production ready tool in Houdini. The shelf tools are a great place to start but there's a lot more under the hood that can be leveraged to get high quality and highly tunable results in less time. This tutorial covers dynamic fracturing starting in the context of dynamic simulations, then using dynamic fracturing building blocks to visualize fracturing without the need to simulate anything, and other tip and tricks to attain complex effects and improve robustness of the workflow. The material is based on the assumption that the viewer has a working knowledge of other aspects of Houdini and might have some experience with other DOP simulations. Dynamic fracturing was introduced in Houdini 9.5 but this tutorial was created using Houdini 11.0 so there may be some differences with earlier versions of Houdini.

Digital Tutors - Using Sculptris Alpha 6
In this series of lessons we’ll learn how to use Sculptris to really quickly and dynamically sculpt models in a very artist-friendly way. When getting into digital sculpting, some of the applications can seem a little daunting. There is a lot to think about, and much of it has to do with the technical aspects that allow the sculpts to be used in a production pipeline. Sculptris removes a lot of those technical concerns and really allows artists to concentrate on the sculpting. Using a really innovative feature called dynamic tessellation, it allows us to not have to worry if we have enough polygons or what level we need to be on to get a particular detail. In this course we'll cover the sculpting functionality, how dynamic tessellation works, and modifying the resolution manually. We'll also cover the painting functionality and how Sculptris works with ZBrush.
